Stocking Rate Calculation-

Vegetation intersected with soils, topograpy, and watering locations provides the baseline information for a technique ORC developed to estimate carrying capacity and livestock use pattern. An ESRI ArcView program was designed to allow the user to have different inputs for slopes and distances from water. So the program can run multiple times with a variety of different management varialbes. It outputs a piosphere map which shows the grazing gradient across the landscape see following figure. It also outputs a table which shows the different vegetation types impacted by water how much is impacted etc…
